Canada recalls Viandes Lauzon's beef products due to E. coli

Due to a possible E. coli contamination, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced the recalling of two varieties of Viandes Lauzon beef products.

The suspected products are Viandes Lauzon Lean Ground Beef and Viandes Lauzon Extra Lean Ground Beef.

They have been sold to hotels, restaurants, institutions and day care facilities in Quebec.

The CFIA warns against using, serving or distributing the recalled products. The food-safety regulator says the recall was made by Quebec-based distributor, Groupe Colabor.

There have been no reports of illnesses associated with the consumption of the beef.
