EU grants soft wheat export licenses for 156,000 tonnes in week
The European Union granted export licenses for 156,000 tonnes of soft wheat for the week ended Nov. 17, EU data showed Thursday (November 19).
This takes total EU wheat exports 20 weeks into the marketing year to 6.8 million tonnes, down from the 9.1 million tonnes exported over the same period the previous year.
Grain exports totalled 8.3 million tonnes 20 weeks into the marketing year, compared with 13.6 million tonnes for the same period the previous year.
The EU also granted licenses to import 27,000 tonnes of wheat for the week ended Nov. 17, taking total wheat imports for the first 20 weeks of the year to 2 million tonnes.
Total grain imports for the first 20 weeks of the marketing year were 4 million tonnes, down from 5.5 million tonnes over the same period the previous year.
