DSM promotes optimum vitamin nutrition concept in China

DSM and Contichiatai Group (Shekou, China) signed an agreement last Friday (Nov 16) to collaborate on the use of DSM's vitamin supplementation guideline-- Optimum Vitamin Nutrition (OVN).

OVN, which was designed by DSM, provides all vitamins in a diet at levels that permit optimal health and productivity of animals.

Market participants said that the use of OVN guidelines in animal feed will ensure the quality of meat and egg products. An official from the Shanghai Food and Drug Administration, who was present at the signing ceremony, said that OVN is an important step in China's effort to launch its food safety and traceability system.

Contichiatai is jointly owned by Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Group and US-based ContiGroup.
