Cermaq's fish farming division, Mainstream renamed Cermaq

Following the sale of its feed division, EWOS on 31 October, Cermaq is now a dedicated fish farming company and all parts of its operation, including the local farming companies-currently known as Mainstream -will be named Cermaq.

"Cermaq is a well-established name, and a common name will strengthen our global operations," says CEO Jon Hindar.

Cermaq is the world's third largest farmer of salmon and trout, with operations in Norway, Chile and Canada. The farming operation is built on acquisitions and organic growth, and there are many company names from Norway, Chile and Canada which have been a part of Mainstream, which will be renamed as Cermaq.

"With this, Cermaq will be a uniform company which can utilise the opportunities from being a dedicated farming company," underlines Jon Hindar.

In 2012, the farming business had sales of about NOK 3.3 billion, and total harvested volume of 120,000 tonnes. Cermaq is listed on the Oslo stock exchange with ticker code CEQ.
