Ukraine to inspect Vietnam's seafood safety
Ukraine's State Committee of Veterinary Medicine will inspect Vietnam's food safety and hygiene in seafood firms which export their products to the Eastern European country.
According to the National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD), Ukraine's inspection is expected to start this December or next January.
Ukraineranked 21th out of 34 major importers of Vietnamese seafood with a revenue of US$38.4 million between January and September.
The country, together with Russia, is seen as a potential market for Vietnamese pangasius products.
Vietnamese seafood companies have so far received inspectors from Japan, Brazil and Russia.
