Russian pork and poultry production to increase in 2011
Russian poultry and pork production will grow in 2011 even after a record drought cut fodder volumes this year, the Russian Meat Union said.
Poultry production will gain no more than 10% next year, and the growth rate is declining, said Musheg Mamikonian, head of the Meat Union, in Moscow on November 18.
Pork output will increase more than 10% as farms expand, according to the Union's estimates. Beef output will probably decline by 3% to 5% as farmers focus on improving the quality of dairy herds, Mamikonian said.
