Davidsons Animal Feeds switches to organic trace minerals
Scotland's Davidsons Animal Feeds will replace key inorganic trace minerals with the safer and more efficient organic equivalents in its cattle feed products.
The reformulation will help dairy farmers in their fight against major profit-draining diseases and health problems such as infertility, lameness and mastitis, said the company.
The total replacement may be very new, but it is a concept backed by very strong research and the potential benefits are widespread, said ruminant nutritionist Csaba Adamik.
He said they will include Sel-Plex selenium, Bioplex Zinc and Bioplex Manganese from Alltech in Davidsons' new TRACE cattle ration range.
