Slovenian poultry producer acquires fish processor in US$6.7 million deal
Slovenian poultry producer Pivka Perutninarstvo has announced the acquisition of fish processing company Delamaris in a EUR4.51 million (US$6.7 million) all-cash deal.
Pivka signed the contract on the acquisition of the outright stake in Delamaris with holding company Amanita on Friday (Nov 13). Both Pivka and Delamaris expect synergies from the merger.
The deal is still subject to approval from the Competition Protection Office.
Pivka, which is part of the Ljubljana-based Jata Emona, the second-biggest poultry producer in Slovenia, said it intends to invest in the production line at Delamaris.
Delamaris is a producer of canned fish and fish pates. It has a 45 percent market share in Slovenia.
