Vietnam's Son La reports bird flu
Vietnam's northern province of Son La has reported a bird flu outbreak recently, bringing the total number of affected cities and provinces in the country to 14.
Authorities have confirmed the disease in Chieng Hac commune, Yen Chau district, and at the Moc Chau Farm, Moc Chau district.
So far, bird flu has reportedly hit 85 communes in Vietnam, including 24 lately.
Meanwhile, the government said Nam Dinh, Tien Giang, Bac Ninh, Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces have completed two poultry vaccination drives. Other provinces have also stepped up the pace of vaccinations.
The National Steering Board for Bird Flu Control would also set up nine teams to inspect and monitor the implementation of government orders on anti-bird flu measures.
