China's cotton imports increase 3.5% for October

China sees a 3.5% rise for cotton imports in October, with volumes at 272,000 tonnes.

Average import prices stood at US$2,287 per tonne last month, down 3% from the preceding month and representing a slump of 27.7% from the year earlier period.

The country's cotton imports rebounded last month as fallback of overseas cotton prices triggered bargain buying, analysts say.

In the first 10 months of this year, the country's cotton imports totaled 4.3 million tonnes, soaring 95.8% on year.
