CPF's third quarter profits up 197 percent

Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) reported net profit of THB4,116 million for the third quarter, up THB2,728 million or 197 percent from the previous year.

Net profit for the first nine months of 2009 reached THB8,080 million.

CPF is confident that its business restructuring, efficient operations and overseas businesses expansion will help make 2009 an outstanding and profitable year for the company.

The 197-percent growth during the third quarter was attributed to the improvement of operating results from overseas livestock and aquaculture businesses, especially in Turkey.

In addition, efficient cost control and continuous improvement of operating results of domestic operations and higher associated income all contributed to higher profit of the company.

For year 2010, CPF will focus on an improvement of its operating results especially for its overseas operations and export operations.

CPF will also continue to implement policy on an improvement of efficiency of its production, operation and energy saving projects in order to increase the company's competitive advantage.
