UK animal health officials suspect second bird flu outbreak

UK animal health officials reported a suspected case of another bird flu outbreak in Grove farm in Botesdale, Suffolk as dead birds were discovered.

The premises were believed to be in "dangerous contact" with the area where initial case of the H5N1 strain of the virus was found in the UK recently.

The birds were all on farms within 10 miles of Redgrave Park.

Grove farm's 5,000 turkeys and 22,000 free-range turkeys were culled last night as precaution against spreading of bird flu strain.
