China sold 18,802 tonnes of imported wheat from its state reserves Thursday (November 15, 2007), or 14.82 percent of the 126,904 tonnes it planned to sell.

The imported wheat was sold at US$296 - US$306/tonne, said the National Grain & Oil Trade Centre in a statement published on its Web site.

It was the highest amount the government sold during its recent auctions of imported wheat. Last week, China sold 700 tonnes of imported wheat from its state reserves.
