Slower price falls in China choline chloride markets
Prices continued to fall during the period in review.
Demand for choline chloride continued to dwindle as aquaculture production has ended in the northern parts of China.
Even though prices of ethylene oxide firmed up of late, choline chloride producers did not attempt to lift prices knowing that demands are too weak to support the price hikes. Nonetheless, producers were more cautious in negotiating prices, hence resulting in slower price falls.
Ex-factory prices of 50-percent content choline chloride by major producers in Shandong reduced by RMB50-100/tonne to RMB5,700-5,750/tonne
One producer in east China is poised to expand production soon. The imminent increase in supply, together with diminishing demand from the aquaculture sector will weigh on choline chloride prices.
