Following the recent official opening of offices in the Thai capital of Bangkok a few weeks ago, CLAAS Agricultural Machinery Trading (Beijing) Co., Ltd has established a new company in China, based in Beijing to promote and market its technology.
Guests at the ceremony included the Counsellor for food, agriculture and consumer protection of the German Embassy in Beijing, Meike Rassbach, and the Vice President of the Chinese Academy for the Mechanisation of Agriculture, Yang Shikun. CLAAS was represented by Jan-Hendrik Mohr (Sales Director at the CLAAS Group), Jens Oeding (CLAAS Regional Director and Managing Director of the new company), Rainer Tauscher (Deputy Managing Director and Sales Manager) and Blue Xu (Manager of the Representation in China and Key Account Manager). Several representatives of the press also attended the opening ceremony.
In addition to its sales and marketing activities in China, CLAAS has been involved with the German-Chinese Ganhe Demonstration Farm for eight years now. It works hand in hand with companies and institutions, such as the DLG and the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. This summer, the farm held its third field day. German plant growing experts gave demonstrations showing how, for example, the tyre pressure of agricultural machinery affects diesel consumption. A ground profile was also shown to highlight the damage that bad soil tillage practices can cause. Its German partner companies had the opportunity to show off their machinery and to demonstrate what modern agricultural machinery "Made in Germany" is capable of achieving.
