Ukraine sets figure for grain export quota
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has set quotas for grain exports from the country at the level of 2.114 million tonnes.
"On confirmation of quota volumes for separate varieties of agricultural products, which exports to be subjected to licensing till December 31, 2010," announced the media department of the ministry.
The government specifically distributed quotas for corn exports at the level of 1.414 million tonnes (from the offered volume of 2 million tonnes initially) and wheat is at 500, 000 tonnes. The authorities gave out quotas for wheat exports in complete measure.
Ukrainian export organisations gave application forms for corn exports at the level of 1.414 million tonnes and wheat at 544, 580 tonnes.
The ministry had to proportionally decrease the announced quota volumes with the ratio of 1.09 for wheat export volumes.
The ministry also announced that the website of the ministry of economy would state the names of companies which would get grain export quotas recently.
Anatoliy Maksyuta, the first deputy minister of economy, said that the licenses for exports would be given in 1-2 days' time. The ministry will announce the start of acceptance of new application forms for receiving the remaining corn export quotas in the next few days.
