Lebanon spends US$2.66 million annually on livestock health
In order to secure the necessary vaccinations, veterinary medications and antiseptics to keep the country's livestock health, Lebanon's agriculture ministry spent around LBP4 billion (US$2.66 million) a year.
This is according to Caretaker Agriculture Minister Hussein Hajj Hasan.
"We have worked successfully on controlling the diseases that plague the livestock sector in Lebanon," he said during the launch of a project to vaccinate livestock on the Syrian-Lebanese border.
According to a newspaper report, the project is funded by the British government and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
