Bob Evans Farms profits up by 15 percent on Q2
Ohio-based Bob Evans Farms reported a 15-percent increase during the second quarter of its food products division.
The strong outcome made the company's stock jump to 8 percent in after-hours trading. As of October 26, 2007, Bob Evans declared a net income of US$15.5 million up from US$13.5 million on-year.
Sales, which were up by 3 percent over the same period last year, amounted to US$412.7 million. Sausage and refrigerated side dishes of the food products division enjoyed a sales increase of 6 percent.
Bob Evans, popular for its meat and pork products, serves about 580 family-style restaurants in about 20 states.
