Brazil's October pork export revenue up 27.5% on-year
 

 

Brazil's October chilled pork exports reached US$153.30 million, 4.9% higher than in September and 27.5% more than in October 2011.

 

According to the Development Ministry, based on an exchange rate of BRL2.03 (US$1), pork exports reached BRL311.14 million (US$152) last month - in real terms, this is the highest revenue since October 2008.

 

October saw the shipment of 54,200 tonnes of pork - 0.6% less than in September (when export volume was the highest since October 2009). Compared to October 2011, export volume rose 41.1%.
