Russia's meat imports rises to 12.9 percent
Russia's Federal Customs Service announced that the country's import of meat rose by 12.9 percent from January to September this year.
In monetary terms, Russia's import rose to US$2.326 billion compared to US$1.812 billion of the same period last year. Meat imports from countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) reached 932,500 tonnes at US$2.255 billion.
Significantly, the fish import rose to 525,900, a 20.2 percent increase compared to last year. Poultry imports on the other hand fell by 2.2 pecent.
