Belarus bans pork export to meet domestic demand
Belarus prohibited all companies, state-run or private, from exporting pork to meet requirements of the local market.
Deputy of Agriculture Minister Mikhail Savelyev said that the companies will restart pork export after they meet domestic needs. Savelyev pointed that from January-September, Belarus has exported 13,000 tonnes of pork and the remainder should be allotted for the domestic market.
Belarusan president Alexander Lukashenko called on farms to increase milk and meat output to ensure cash inflow.
