Poultry Breeding Farms in Northern Vietnam Bird Flu Free
Serum samples obtained from large poultry farms in northern provinces of Vietnam have all tested negative for the bird flu virus, H5N1, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's Veterinary Department
This means that the region's young poultry flocks are safe to be distributed to rearing establishments.
The Veterinary Department stated that more serum samples will be taken from farms in the south and the Mekong delta for testing. The move serves to control bird flu in the region.
The ministry has also asked international organisations to speed up the pace of implementing projects to develop poultry flocks with a special focus on epidemic control. This is due to winter just around the corner.
