Pakistan city's chicken meat prices fall
The price of chicken meat has registered a decline in Pakistan's Karachi owing to a demand reduction nearing Eid-ul-Azha.
A random market survey revealed that prices have been decreased depending on the area. Prices of chicken meat decreased from Rs 240 per kg to Rs 220 per kg.
The price of boneless chicken meat has also reduced steeply. It is now being sold at PKR250 (US$2.93) per kg. The price of boneless beef in the local market is PKR320 (US$3.75) per kg and PKR280 (US$3.28) with bone. In case of veal (bachhia) meat with bones, retailers at Tariq Road and Burnes Road are demanding PKR290 (US$3.40) per kg, while meat without bones sells at PKR340 (US$3.98) per kg as against PKR230-240 (US$2.69-$2.81) per kg.
