Salisbury Poultry completes factory expansion
Salisbury Poultry recently completed a GBP1.5 million (US$2.4 million) expansion of its premises, in order to boost its profile in the industry.
The company, which offers a variety of foodservice customers, and retailer Makro, has enlarged its packing hall and dispatch and chilling areas by 30,000 square feet.
The amount of birds it can process now has increased from 250,000 to 320,000 supplying a range of Freedom Food, Red Tractor, and halal poultry, commercial director Stephen Hammond explained.
The expansion will result in 30 additional positions and one of them includes the new role of a factory manager.
It has also added additional vehicles to its current fleet. Hammond said Salisbury was proactively looking for new customers across the board.
