China to Lift US Poultry Ban
China has agreed to lift its ban on live poultry and poultry products from the US, according to the Undersecretary for Farm and Foreign Agriculture Services J.B. Penn.
China imposed the ban on US poultry in February following outbreaks of avian influenza in Delaware.
China and Hong Kong imported about $190 million of US poultry in 2003, according to USDA data collected by the US Poultry and Egg Export Council.
