Kazakhstan may export seven million tonnes wheat in 2012-13
 

 

Due to drought, Kazakhstan's 2012 grain harvest fell to 14.718 million tonnes from 29.7 million tonnes in 2011 and is likely to export only seven million tonnes of wheat in 2012-13 marketing compared with 12.1 million tonnes in the previous marketing year.

 

The agriculture ministry said on Thursday (Nov 8) that the country was currently exporting wheat to traditional buyers at the rate of 400,000-500,000 tonnes a month.
