Peru's commercial quota for anchovies down to lowest level
Peru has lowered its commercial fishing quotas for anchovies to the lowest level in 25 years.
Warmer sea temperatures and controversial fishing practices have led to the anchovy population shrinking by 41% since last summer. According to the Peruvian government marine institute IMARPE, it is currently 28% below the 12-year average.
