India's Mehsana to build new cattle feed plant
In order to meet rising demand and to ease the prices of cattle feed, the Mehsana District Dairy Milk Cooperative Union Ltd will begin the construction of a new cattle feed plant on Sunday (Nov 15).
Cattle feed prices have increased by more than 30 percent, said the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF).
The Rs50 crore new plant will have a daily capacity of 1,000 tonne, and is expected to boost cattle feed supplies in the Gujarat state. The plant will cater to the demand of cattle feed in Gujarat.
The plant will provide cattle feed to the cooperative milk societies through GCMMF.
The Mehsana District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union Ltd., popularly known as Dudhsagar Dairy, is a member of the state-level Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. Dudhsagar Dairy is the largest dairy in Asia, processing on an average 1.41 million kg of milk each day.
