China expands investigation scope on US chicken products
China's Ministry of Commerce announced on November 5 that it was set to expand its investigation scope on chicken products imported from the US.
The Chinese government would investigate two items of subsidies from the US central government and five items from local governments.
Earlier on September 27, the commerce ministry said it would conduct a countervailing investigation on US chicken products.
On October 13, the China Animal Agriculture Association, in name of the Chinese chicken product industry, reported the aforementioned new items of subsidies for the US chicken products to the ministry, and requested the ministry to expand its investigation scope.
Subsequently, the ministry decided to conduct an investigation against the new items as the request by the association was in line with the related rules and regulation.
