Market analysis

Prices of lysine remained firm over the week. Hog prices rebounded of late, strengthening the confidence of feed millers to increase output while expanding lysine stocks. Additionally, supplies were tight partly due to limited production, and partly due to delays in deliveries amid higher transportation costs.

In Europe, price quotes for Q4 deliveries stayed in the range of EUR1.20-1.24/kg. For spot deliveries, prices remained firm at EUR1.25-1.28/kg.

Market forecast

Lysine prices should stay firm as producers limits production. Additionally, higher transportation costs will underpin selling prices of the products, particularly in the consumption regions.
