Norway's Jan-Sep fish exports to Russia up 5.6%
During January-September 2012, Norway increased fish exports to Russia by 5.6% to 245,000 tonnes.
This was according to a statement by the Norwegian Seafood Export Council in Russia on Wednesday (Nov 7).
In terms of value, Norway's exports rose 9% to EUR59.4 million (US$76 million).
The volume of salmon supplies rose 24% to 93,700 tonnes in this period, while the export price fell 14.3% to EUR3.65 (US$4.66) per kilogramme. In October, salmon supplies increased 21.8% to 13,160 tonnes, while the price rose to EUR3.41 (US$4.4) per kilogramme from EUR3.01 (US$3.8) in October 2011.
Russia is the leading importer of Norway's fish, while France and Denmark rank second and third, respectively.
