Czech 2007 grain production seen at 7.051 million tonnes, up 10.7 percent on-year

 

 

The latest estimate for the Czech Republic's total 2007 grain harvest forecasts a total yield of 7.051 million tonnes in 2007, an increase of 10.7 percent on 2006, the Czech Statistics Office, or CSU, said Wednesday (November 7).

 

The latest estimated, using data collected from local farmers October 15, is above the 2007 grain harvest forecast from September of 7.046 million tonnes.

 

The corn harvest is estimated at 612,468 tonnes in 2007, up 1 percent from 606,179 tonnes in 2006.

 

The grain yield is estimated at 4.55 tonnes per hectare in 2007, up 8.3 percent from 4.20 tonnes per hectare last year.

 

The corn yield is estimated to be down 2.5 percent on the year at 6.58 tonnes per hectare in 2007, the CSU said.
