Methionine price stays at record-low level in China
Prices slid during the week ended November 4.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine dropped to the range of RMB31-31.60/kg, while transacted prices were mainly around RMB30.50/kg.
Methionine prices decreased further amid slack demand. Feed millers were reluctant to stockpile inventories while the livestock markets performed poorly and methionine supplies were ample.
Prices of methionine are seen stable to lower. While the upward potential of the market is limited by the weak feed demand, there is little scope for prices to fall prominently at current record-low levels.
