The Boards of TripleNine amba and Koppernæs AS have recommended a merger of their fishmeal divisions.
The new company will have factories in Norway, Denmark and Chile, and include 50% of the Norwegian trading company Norsildmel AS. The name of the new company will be TripleNine Group A/ S, with head office located in Esbjerg, Denmark. The parties will each own 50% of the company, and have consolidated sales revenues of NOK3 billion (US$527 million).
The basis for the merger is that the parties have a common understanding of strategic challenges and opportunities. A merged company will have better ability to develop new products and satisfy customer needs.
The merger takes effect when all approvals have been obtained, and are expected to be completed during the spring of 2013.
