Market analysis

Feed millers and farmers were reluctant to stock inventories as feed demand shrank during October, while smaller producers negotiated prices eagerly. Consequently, one major producer who stood firm earlier reduced price quotes to remain competitive.

In Europe, prices for late Q4 orders remained at EUR1.96-1.98/kg, while quotes for 2012 Q1 deliveries were at EUR1.92-1.94/kg.

Market forecast

With buying interest low and producers keen to release inventories, China's lysine market will be under pressure.
