Biomar to acquire Provimi aquafeed business

Biomar group, the third biggest supplier of aqua feed, signed agreements to acquire Provimi's fish feed activities in Chile, Denmark and Spain.

Provimi's activities in the three regions account for 90 percent of Provimi Group's aqua feed business. Biomar

sees the acquisition as a significant undertaking in their strategy for global growth and internal efficiency enhancements.

The transaction may not bring immediate results for Biomar's 2007 finances, but the company expects the acquisition would be an asset to the company   in  coming years. The closing of the deal is expected around the first half of 2008.
