China's 2006 soy output expected to fall 5.2 percent for 2006
China's soy output is expected to be 15.5 million tonnes, according to figures from The China National Grain and Oil Information Centre.
The centre also announced updated data for soy planting area and soy output in 2006. The agency releases national and provincial-based agricultural data on the first week of every month.
China's 2006 soy planting area would probably decline 5.1 percent to 9.1 million hectares from 9.59 million hectares on 2005, unchanged from October's forecast.
China's soy production for 2006 would decrease 5.2 percent or 850,000 tonnes to 15.5 million tonnes from 16.35 million tonnes on 2006, and remains unchanged from October estimates.
The yield's decline is mainly due to the shrinking of planting area and decreased yields in Helongjiang province.
