Faccenda to invest US$1.6 million in anti-Campylobacter technology

Faccenda Foods is investing US$1.6 million for a new technology aimed at eliminating Campylobacter in chickens.
Faccenda is one of the United Kingdom's leading food companies with annual turnover of over GBP400 million US$638 million.
After conducting extensive testing, Faccenda has now started full scale trials at their factory in Brackley on a new sterilisation technology called SonoSteam®.
If the trials prove successful, Faccenda would invest over £1 million in the new technology, which kills Campylobacter and other micro-organisms on the skin and internal cavity of chickens through the simultaneous application of both steam and ultrasound.
The steam kills the micro-organisms, while the ultra-sound optimises the effect.
