Ukraine's Jul-Oct 2012 grain export reaches 8.39 million tonnes

 

 

Ukraine's export volumes of grains totalled 8.39 million tonnes in July-October 2012, an increase of 77.7% on-year.

 

This was according to the press-service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on November 1.

 

In particular, from July-October of 2012 the exports of Ukrainian wheat increased by 2.3 times to 4.06 million tonnes; corn - up 2.5 times to 2.69 million tonnes. At the same time, in the reporting period the exports of barley from the country decreased by 15.9% to 1.53 million tonnes.

 

According to the Ministry, during 30 days of October Ukraine exported 2.97 million tonnes of grains, including 1.44 million tonnes of wheat, 270,000 tonnes of barley and 1.23 million tonnes of corn.

 

As of October 31, traders already contracted 12.13 million tonnes of grains, including 5.53 million tonnes of wheat, 1.99 million tonnes of barley and 4.36 million tonnes of corn.
