US Poultry & Egg announces new president

 

 

The US Poultry & Egg Association has chosen John Starkey to become the association's new president, effective Dec. 1.

 

Starkey, who joined US Poultry as vice president of environmental programmes in 2000, will manage all of the business affairs of the association. The board of directors expressed confidence on Starkey's education background and adept knowledge on the industry and service in the environment.

 

Starkey earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and a master's degree in sanitary engineering from Georgia Tech. He is a registered professional engineer.

 

Before he joined US Poultry, Starkey served as manager of environmental engineering for Gold Kist, and director of environmental affairs for Hudson Foods. He was also a principal of the engineering firm of Vaughn, Coltrane & Associates.
