Seaboard postpones new pork facility for alternatives
Seaboard Corp., one of the largest pork producers in the US, is reviewing its planned construction of a US$45-million processing plant which could mean the purchase of an existing facility instead.
The construction has indefinitely been postponed for a possible acquisition of an existing facility, as disclosed by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Seaboard also discussed on its continuing plan to allocate US$9.2 million for the improvement of hog facilities and the upgrade of its Guymon processing plant. Presently, Seaboard is constructing a US$40-million processing plant for biodiesel.
