India eases export ban on milk products
India has relaxed restrictions on exporting milk products due to the sufficient availability of milk powder in the country.
The ban was imposed earlier in February 2011. The ban included milk products such as skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, dairy whitener, infant milk foods, casein and casein products, to boost domestic supply.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has decided to lift the ban on some of the milk products, as the supply of milk has been increased. The export of these items is likely to be reviewed after March 2013.
According to the last month's Consumer Price Indice, the inflation in milk was 11.43%.
