Pakistan seafood exports increase sharply in September
                              


Pakistan's exports of fish and fish preparations witnessed positive growth of 86.5 percent during September 2009 as compared to the exports of the commodities during August 2009.

 

According to reports, seafood exports during September were recorded at US$18.009, million as compared to the exports of US$9.65 million registered during August 2009.

 

Exports of fish and fish preparations were recorded US$25.293 million during September 2008.

 

However, exports during the month under review declined by 28.8 percent when compared to the exports of the same month of last financial year.

 

Exports of fish and fish preparations during July-September 2009-10 witnessed negative growth of 25.8 percent as against the exports of the commodities during the corresponding period of last year.

 

Exports of fish and fish preparations were recorded at US$34.369 million during the first three months of current financial year against the exports of US$46.3 million recorded during July-September 2008-09, according to Federal Bureau of Statistics.
