Informa's and USDA's estimates of corn and soy production tallies
                     

 

Private analytical firm, Informa Economics on Tuesday, 4 November 2008 estimated the 2008-09 US corn crop will total 12.028 billion bushels, with a yield of 153.9 bushels per acre.

 

The production estimate is down slightly from the US Department of Agriculture's latest projection of 12.033 billion bushels. Informa's yield estimate matches the USDA's estimate.

 

Informa estimated soy production at 2.987 billion bushels, with a yield of 40.2 bushels per acre. The USDA last estimated soy production at 2.938 billion bushels and yield at 39.5 bushels per acre.

 

The USDA is due to issue updated production and yield forecasts at 8:30 a.m. EST Monday, 10 November 2008.
