China reports fourth FMD case in Qinghai
China reported an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Qinghai, the fourth such case in the northwestern province so far this year.
Nineteen cattle in a village were discovered displaying symptoms of the disease on October 24, which was confirmed six days later, said the Ministry of Agriculture in a statement published on its Web site Friday.
The outbreak was brought under control after the authorities disinfected the area and destroyed 58 cattle suspected of carrying the disease, it said.
The latest outbreak of the disease in the province was in early June.
