Informa sees 2007/08 US corn output at 13.193 billion bushels; soy 2.628 billion bushels

 

 

Private analytical firm Informa Economics estimated 2007/08 US corn production at 13.193 billion bushels, with a yield of 153.3 bushels per acre, traders said Friday (November 2).

 

The firm estimated US 2007/08 soy production at 2.628 billion bushels with a yield of 41.8 bushels per acre.

 

In October, the US Department of Agriculture estimated US corn production at 13.318 billion bushels with a yield of 154.7 bushels per acre. Soy production was estimated at 2.598 billion bushels with a yield of 41.4 bushels per acre.

 

On November 9, the US Department of Agriculture is scheduled to release updated US corn and soy estimates at 8:30 a.m. EDT.

 

In 2006, US corn production was 10.535 billion bushels yielding 149.1 bushels per acre, with soy production at 3.188 billion bushels and a yield of 42.7 bushels.
