Scotland to build new marine laboratory

A new GBP11 million (US$18.2 million) state-of-the-art marine laboratory is to be built in Aberdeen to replace Marine Scotland's existing fish health facilities in Torry.

The new Fish Veterinary and Aquaria building will be used by marine scientists to conduct research to aid Scotland's aquaculture industry and to safeguard the health of wild fish and shellfish stocks.

The building is set for completion in September 2010.
