North Korea on Bird Flu Alert
 

North Korean health officials have been put on alert against bird flu. The government has also banned poultry imports from countries infected with the deadly virus.

 

A strict quarantine is in force in North Korea to prevent the entry of bird flu from other countries. Meanwhile, inspection posts have been set up in border areas, ports and airports.

 

Besides the vaccination and treatment of domestic animals, the movement of wild birds is being been closely watched. No cases of the virus have been reported as yet.
