Ukraine sells 12 million tonnes of grain on stock market
A total of 12.33 million tonnes of grain of the 2010 harvest has been sold on Ukraine's stock market, of which 6.43 million tonnes were sold under spot contracts and over 5.9 million tonnes under forward contracts.
The Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry said that of the total amount of grain, 17,000 tonnes had been sold under domestic contracts and 12.3 million tonnes under export contracts.
The volume of trade in food grain on the stock market amounted to 4.82 million tonnes, including about 4.77 million tonnes of wheat and 28,400 tonnes of rye.
A total of 105,600 tonnes of leguminous crops were sold. Forage crops were sold in the amount of over 7.4 million tonnes, including 517,500 tonnes of wheat, 3.65 million tonnes of corn, and 3.22 million tonnes of barley.
