Australian sheep, cattle research data goes online

Australia launched this week an online library of sheep and cattle research and data spanning across 50 years. Called the Livestock Library, it contains articles from industry journals and conferences, as well as fact notes.

Livestock Library is the collaboration of Australian Sheep Industry CRC, the CRC for Beef Genetic Technologies and Australian Wool Innovation, and was built by Internet Business Design.

The library can store up to 30 gigabytes of data locally, and can be accessed from a number of external locations. It promises to deliver information quickly and easily to basic and advanced users alike.

During the next one year, the library will update sheep and beef facts from all Australia's state departments of primary industries and will include industry reports and information from publications.
